Seminar for international youth workers on selecting participants, tutoring and project management

The training activity took place
in Budapest
organised by Artemisszio Foundation
28 February-4 March, 2007

Aims & objectives

The Artemisszio Foundation invited their project partners to this seminar, which aimed at evaluating the past cooperations, share methods and good practices with each other and discuss the possibilities of enhancement of the selection of participants, their preparation, mentoring and follow-up. The seminar concluded with a charta of minimum quality standards that the partners agreed upon.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The seminar involved 12 participants from 8 different countries, however the diversity of participants did not only reflect by nationalities. Some partners came from the NGO sector, while other from the educational, public administration or business sectors.

Training methods used & main activities

Since most of the participants had great experience in organizing youth mobility projects and since a declared aim of the seminar was the SHARE of experience, the seminar consisted mostly of pair work and small group sessions. Since many of the participants were experienced trainers, it was a true challenge to design a process that involved participants from the beginning to the end.

Outcomes of the activity

The seminar was a truly successful one that gave a new impetus to existing cooperations and gave birth to new ones. The participants all evaluated the seminar as a successful one, which gave them new aspects to their daily work. Several successful partnerships were established as a result of this seminar.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

This seminar could be implemented from a grant that the Artemisszio Foundation received from a Hungarian public donor. Since it was me who wrote the application proposal, I had a full impact on the process: from the planning of the program until the implementation and evaluation of the program. I worked in close cooperation with two other trainers of the Artemisszio Foundation: Tessza Udvarhelyi and Gabriella Nagy.

I worked on this training for 5 days as a full time trainer.
