Aims & objectives

To raise awareness of youth and education workers (involved in the summer school) about safeguarding, child protection and developing a culture of safe practice.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Participants were from;
The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Spain and USA

Outcomes of the activity

Summer school youth leaders reported that they felt more knowledgeable and confident on;

The the different types of abuse, spotting the indicators, knowing how to respond to disclosures, knowing how to access the right support for children and young people, knowing how to manage risks and embed a culture of safe practice, knowing how to conduct risk assessments, case record, report accidents and injuries and maintain good personal - professional boundaries.
