Aims & objectives

At the successful completion of this training course, the participants:
1. have gained knowledge on drug abuse narratives analysis: youth engagement; framing the problem:
alcohol, drugs and youth in local contexts:
a. they gain skills on counter-narratives: proactive solutions to counter drug abuse attitudes and
behaviours.
b. They learn story-boarding and planning: understanding online environment, local realities,
and language to use.
2. have developed their capacities to apply and design innovative counter narratives campaigns to
engage with the audience and call for actions:
a. They gain knowledge on drug abuse narratives prevention: combating fake information on
effects of drugs and addiction;
b. They learn how to develop targeted messaging, set up a targeted audience and how to
interact with it: organise the content that is interesting enough to spark dialogue.
3. are familiar with developing, executing, controlling and evaluating counter drug abuse narratives
campaigns:
a. they gain knowledge on how to elaborate a counter-narratives message: monitoring the
contents of counter-narratives campaign;
b. they gain skills on Facebook page’s metrics: Awareness: number of people reached. And
Engagement: people interacted with the campaign.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The project seeks to develop drug prevention knowledge, skills and attitudes of youth workers or teachers within the consortium. It is therefore, reflected on and maintained herein that each participant in this training course works directly with young people or adults.
This includes but not limited to: youth volunteers, migrants, asylum seekers or refugees, or youth workers:trainers, resources developers or practitioners and teachers within the consortium.

Training methods used & main activities

All the activities will be carried out using the non-formal education method, which allows participants to get more involved in the activities, and at the same time allows a more dynamic and interacting learning approach, where participants can share their knowledges and their expertise.

Outcomes of the activity

On successful completion of this training course, the participant will be able to:
1. illustrate, present and discuss drug abuse attitudes and counter drug abuse narratives analysis, as well as applied tools and techniques.
2. interpret, analyse and design innovative counter drug abuse narratives campaigns, which aims at
changing drug abuse behaviors and attitudes among young people and call to actions.
3. initiate, execute and monitor and evaluate community-based drug abuse prevention interventions through Online counter drug abuse narratives campaigns.
