TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Silvia PĂ©rez Alonso
This training aimed to leave the participants refreshed, rejuvenated, and having experienced moments of inner peace and
mindfulness - ideas and techniques for themselves. They were empowered to make positive changes in their everyday lives regarding self-care practices. The training addressed the needs for mental health, preventing and managing stress in difficult situations in life, the need to develop their capacities to live healthier by developing healthy mental habits, and the need of gaining self-knowledge and inner harmony through practicing meditation and mindfulness. These needs were aligned with the organization's goals of looking for diverse self-development tools to support the innovative non-formal education method of mindfulness and work on changing our busy and trouble-seeking mentalities.
The target group was the youth from 6 countries: Lithuania, Spain, Sweden, Hungary, Italy, and The Netherlands. The nationalities of the team were Lithuania, Sweden, and Spain.
We used a great variety of different non-formal education methods in this project to carry on the different activities. Ice breakers, team-building activities, discussions, role-play activities, problem-solving activities, connection with nature through activities in the forest, game-based activities and expositions were some of the methods we used in our project.
The participants went back home with several new tools in their backpacks to fight stress and improve their mental health. We sent them an online evaluation to get to know the average satisfaction with the learning process and the project in general and we obtained good feedback from participants. We have a Facebook page where we shared content during and after the project: https://www.facebook.com/groups/599422854851031
I carried out activities for the participants during the whole project.
Youth Exchange took place as described and Silvia was involved as a full-time facilitator
