Aims & objectives

As a RESOLVE programme, this Online Dialogue Activity was mobilise a range of reconciliation and peacebuilding techniques to achieve this including: People to people dialogue; Debate for Peace; Simulation games; Mediation techniques and Effective communication & advocacy.

Objectives:

- To encourage youth leaders engagement with decision-makers in dialogue sessions to discuss the future of young people; address social intolerance and community xenophobia;
- To capture youth workers views on key socio-economic-political issues in our world today causing conflict;
- To analyse Social Action, civic responsibility and citizenship promotion in the work with youth
- To receive inputs from youth worker on encouraging youth participation in the RESOLVE: Network – specifically in its governance, chairing of meetings and leading a peace network;

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

This Online Dialogue Activity was for young youth leaders, youth workers, team leaders etc, but it was open for everyone as it was an online event, everyone who was affected by conflict and interested in becoming a future leader.
The course was open to participants from the UK, Sweden, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Azerbaijan, but as this activity was Online many participants were from outside Europe.

Training methods used & main activities

We adapted educational tools to the e-learning.
We debate to topic such as social civic engage and social inclusion, we had lecture from expertise, we had Role Play Game on conflict resolution called Kurkum, workshops on stereotype and prejudice (Now see me) and we had workshop MiA - Motive in Action to discover the potentiality of self-motivation and from what can be triggered.

Outcomes of the activity

Better understanding of how our daily action had an impact on our community;
Awareness on the identification the stereotype and prejudice;
Development of social skills on conflict management.
