TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Kata Dietrich
The main goal of the Training Course was to introduce a set of new, innovative methods and tools to youth workers, trainers, social workers that they can implement in their work with young people. The aim was also to give space for best practice sharing and to promote creativity in designing activities and to give new ideas and inspiration for participants to grow in their professions.
Participants of the Training Course were 31 youth leaders, trainers, facilitators,
volunteers, 18+ with no upper age limit, from 8 European countries: Greece,
Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Spain.
The main method we used during the program was the method of experimental learning - learning by doing. The idea was to support youth workers with new tools that they can implement in their work while also developing some of their own soft skills. Some of the methods that we used:
- creative recycling
- business thinking
- graphic facilitation
- outdoor
- design thinking
- gamification
Participants of the Training Course developed their skills and competences that they can use in their future personal and professional lives. They acquired knowledge on new, innovative methods used in youth work and they had the chance to practice them already during the program since they organised workshops/activities in 4 local institutions - with 4 different target groups.
I supported the head trainer of the Training Course, Barbara Földi. I designed and delivered program parts of the program and was responsible for the supervision of the team. I also mentored a group of participants as a reflection group leader.
