Aims & objectives

The main objective of the project is to enable the participating youth workers/youth leaders to teach young people to be
more conscious media consumers by critically analysing the information they receive. We want to create an “equal
partnership'' between the youth worker and young people where the youth worker is the one who assists, helps and guides
the young person.
Specific objectives of the project, in line with the Erasmus+ objectives, are:
-to raise awareness of problems in the area of media literacy and critical thinking in youth work
-to exchange practices and realities of involved partners/countries
to develop capacity, professionalism, ability and self-confidence of youth worker’s to work with young people in the field of
“Media literacy education”
-to understand how to encourage young people to critically analyse media content
-to raise quality in youth work in local, national and European context

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

There were 27 participants from a total of 9 countries: Croatia, Armenia, Turkey, Latvia, Republic of North Macedonia, Georgia, Ukraine, Greece and Portugal.

Training methods used & main activities

Non-formal methods were used such as: role playing, simulation, brainstorming, experiental learning, creativity, debates.

Outcomes of the activity

Outcomes of the activity:
- 27 youth workers improved skills and methods for equal partnership with young people in the topic of media literacy
- 9 organizations improved their visibility and capacity in the field oof media literacy

Organizations involved in the project:
- Increased ability to work at the EU / international level: better governance skills
- enhanced cooperation with partners from other countries;
- better quality of preparation,
- innovative and better way of working towards target groups
- increasing the qualifications of their members, volunteers and employees who participated in the project in project
management
- more effective action for the benefit of local communities
- better methods and practices for working with young people in the field of non-formal media literacy education and critical
thinking
- readiness to include new methods in everyday activities
Participants (Youth Workers):
- greater competencies related to their professional profile (teaching, training, working with young people, etc.);
- better understanding of practices, policies and systems in education, training or youth work in different countries;
- increased ability to initiate change
- better quality of their work and activities for the benefit of young people and volunteers;
- better understanding and responding to social, linguistic and cultural diversity;
- increased support for and promotion of youth mobility activities
- more opportunities for professional development and career advancement;
- greater motivation and satisfaction in everyday work.
Young people:
-at least 5 young people per partner country involved in the follow-up phase (dissemination activities)
-the improved ability for critical thinking
-enabled to critically analyse news
-enabled to fact check information from different media sources
Other target groups - associations, individuals:ž:
- greater awareness of the European project and EU values;
- greater motivation to participate in future (formal / non-formal) education or training after the period mobility abroad.
- more active participation in society
- better understanding of the problem of inclusion
- civic awareness
