Aims & objectives

This training was designed to develop and strengthen digital competences for youth work trainers at all stages of their careers.

Objectives:
- Equip participants with the skills to critically evaluate various AI tools and platforms, enabling them to select the most appropriate technologies for their specific training needs.
- Increasing competencies in designing AI-based mini-projects, supporting the implementation of training activities in the field of youth.
- Foster an understanding of ethical considerations related to the AI use in youth work training context.
- Support networking and international cooperation of trainers working in the field of youth.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Training was for individuals currently working as trainers/facilitators, either locally or internationally, and eager to develop or expand their skills in using generative AI within youth work training settings.

Training methods used & main activities

During the Training of Trainers “Power up your training with generative AI,” We used a variety of non-formal learning methods such as hands-on AI exploration labs, small-group work, peer learning, creative warm-ups (e.g., “AI vs. Human Art”), prompt-building challenges using the CRISPY framework, ethical dilemma discussions, and collaborative prototyping sessions where participants designed there own AI- assistance and different materials related to their training work and practice. These methods ensured experiential learning, active participation, reflection, and direct application to real youth-work training contexts.

Outcomes of the activity

The training successfully strengthened participants’ digital competencies, enabling them to critically evaluate AI tools, design AI-based training materials, and reflect on ethical dimensions of AI in Trainings and youth work. Its success was evident through the high level of engagement in hands-on group work, the quality of AI prototypes created, positive daily reflections, and participants’ feedback indicating increased confidence and readiness to integrate AI into their training practice. During the training most of the methodologies and approaches was documented and presented through the International Youth Work Trainers Guild platforms: https://trainersappraisal.com.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I worked as a full-time trainer throughout the entire Training of Trainers “Power up your training with generative AI,” co-designing the programme together with co-trainer (Laimonas Ragauskas) and facilitating all training days. My role included planning the methodology, delivering sessions on AI tools for trainers (Essentials of AI, Importance of prompting, AI tools related to text, data, visuals, video, custom assistants), guiding group work and prototyping processes, facilitating reflections, supporting participants individually, and ensuring the overall learning flow and quality of the programme. I was responsible for both the educational design and the implementation of non-formal learning activities from start to finish.

I worked on this training for 6 days as a full time trainer.
