Aims & objectives

Training was part of the Young Man Initiative Program which was implemented in four countries: Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Croatia.
Aim of the training was to empower young people (mostly Roma youth) to deal with the topic of gender based violence in their communities. Further on, the aim was to empower man to take part in fighting gender based violence. Training addressed very important issue for the region and equip participants with skills and knowledge to conduct workshops in their communities. Care International supports many projects that have youth in focus.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Target group were 25 young people (mostly Roma people) from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.

Training methods used & main activities

Method used in the training was method M- method for engaging young man in fighting for gender equality. Program is made of workshops, that use brainstorming, simulation games, role play, discussions, group work, etc.

Outcomes of the activity

Participants conducted workshops on gender based violence in their communities. Training empowered Roma and non-Roma youth to deal with the topic and to change their communities by tackling the existing norms and rules.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was in charge of designing and implementing the training, together with my co-trainer. Also, i was in charge of writing the report about the traning.

I worked on this training for 3 days days as a full time trainer.
