TOY - Trainers Online for Youth

The aim of the project was to wide the strategy and action of the first project JAMBO aiming to deepen the women's role within the local community and to encourage women empowerment in EU and African countries.
Under the framework of this project, our goal is to make a second step and to create new synergies also with organizations based in Latin American countries, thus promoting networking and the exchange of experiences and developing together educational paths.
The project was mostly focused on women empowerment in local and international projects, by strengthening young women's and men's skills and capacities, in order to develop new methodologies and actions.
Specific themes:
Gender issues within the local community and in society: cultural differences and Intercultural Learning – ICL;
* Gender roles within the family, traditions and social structures;
* Gender issues in the economy, the wage gap, and income-generating capability;
* Non-formal education and youth work as a tool to enhance young women empowerment within the local communities;
* Social actions planning to promote gender equity and the fair treatment of women in society;
* Women and youth work: women as agents of social changes and promoters of raising awareness processes among the young people.
The project was structured as follows:
- Feasibility study in Peru, Mexico, Ecuador
- Training course in Mexico on gender issues
- Youth Meetings in Peru, Mexico, Ecuador
- Training course in Peru on project management - Implementation phase in Peru, Mexico, Ecuador
- Training course in Italy (Training of Trainers)
Training course in Mexico: the training, targeted 27 participants from Peru, Mexico, Ecuador and 5 trainers from 3 different countries.

Participants were youth workers and young people, who actively took part in all the actions implemented.
Training course on gender issues and non-formal education methods: the training was focused on the socio-cultural relations between men and women in different societies, encouraging actions to make them becoming economically independent within their community. The training will also provide the group with new tools coming from the non-formal education and that will be applied during the youth meetings phase and the following implementation phase.
Training course on project management: it aimed to share among the group, new tools and information on how to conceive and draft projects, on the project life cycle, project management, funding lines, budget compilation and project coordination. The set of competencies developed in this training course were afterwards used in drafting new projects proposals during the follow-up phase to set a concrete social action planning to intervene in the local communities.
The outcomes of the two training courses:

I was part of the pool of trainers in two training courses (Mexico and Peru) designing educational modules, introducing tools and methods and leading sessions.
