TOY - Trainers Online for Youth

Our project aims to increase the quality of the outdoors learning experience provided by youth workers and educators to target groups that they work with.
The objectives of the project are:
To exchange tools, experience and know-how related to outdoors learning
To develop competencies in identifying the needs of various target groups and adaptation of activities according to them
To develop competencies in developing own outdoor learning activities combining them with digital tools
Build a community that supports the quality of outdoors learning projects and activities for young people.
25 youth/social workers, youth leaders, and educators Austria, Finland, Georgia, Italy, Morocco, Macedonia, Spain, Ukraine
During the Training Course, participants experienced and learned diverse outdoor activities: camping, hiking, boating, bowing, solo time in nature, etc. Moreover, they exchanged tools, experiences and practices related to the outdoors; defined the needs of various target groups; explored various digital tools that can be used outdoors; developed their own outdoors learning activities combined with digital tools which will be implemented as a follow-up activity; prepared for the online seminar and were introduced to methodological and safety aspects
Outcomes:
4 outdoors games and activities developed during the Training Course
10 outdoor national games shared within countries
Future projects for implementation in home countries discussed and approved with trainers
Several digital tools and future cooperation contacts shared Outdoors and Digital Tools in Youthwork - Google Jamboard
Needs of different groups were identified and the projects for making outdoor education more interesting were developed Identifying the needs of your target group - Google Docs
Full-time trainer, working in active collaboration in every stage of the project, design, preparation of the activity programme taking into consideration the participant's individual and learning needs, implementation of the activities, evaluation of the activity in collaboration with the co-trainer colleague Michael Scheuchenegger.
