During this seminar we defined the concepts of social entrepreneurship and social enterprises; explored possibilities that Erasmus+ offers for young entrepreneurs and social enterprises. We analysed which parts in Erasmus+ program supports organisations who are working with young entrepreneurs programs, focused on developing social entrepreneurship skills, shared good practice examples of young entrepreneurs and experiences of working with young entrepreneurs. We explored strategies of successful social enterprises, collected experiences, wisdom and strengths of participants and their organisations.
‘Open MIC’ hosted 33 social entrepreneurs from Ireland, Italy, Spain, Germany, Romanian, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Poland, Netherlands and UK.
We used non-formal methodologies that stimulated creative thinking and encouraged future collaborations and networks between participating organisations. One of the main method that we adapted and used to clarify social business ideas was an 'Open-MIC' sessions and inspiring guest speakers inputs.
The main outcomes of this seminar were concrete social business plans created by participants and the strong support network created by all who took part in this seminar.
I was preparing, implementing and evaluating the seminar, as well as coordinating the trainers and volunteers team. So I was involved from the idea and creation of the application to the final reports.
