The project aimed to:
-Knowledge and recognition of the underlying values and social reach of projects developed under the Erasmus+ Program for the promotion of strategies in favor of well-being and mental health;
- Development of active participation and awareness of European citizenship;
- Awareness and training of young people to adopt inclusive measures, healthy lifestyle habits and that promote mental well-being;
- Raising awareness and encouraging the community and local/regional organizations to develop strategies and initiatives to promote measures that promote mental health, and that are socially inclusive and intercultural based on non-formal education methodology;
- Arouse interest in local organisations, target groups and stakeholders for involvement in the Erasmus+ program and for active participation in society;
- Knowledge and recognition of the role of society and organizations in implementing the SDGs and Youth Goals strategies and the strategies defined for each country in this area;
- Capacity building of organizations for active participation in national and European social responses based on non-formal education methodology;
- Recognition of the importance of physical activity, consequently of its importance for the well-being and mental health of those involved;
- Development of policies that promote mental health among young people in conjunction with policies aimed at social inclusion;
- Development of national policies aimed at the social inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities.
- Investment in the quality and quantity of European youth projects, aimed at an active, inclusive and diverse society;
- Interest in the Erasmus+ program;
- Increased investment in policies to promote measures aimed at mental health, particularly for young people, through social inclusion and respect for diversity;
- Reduction of social and civic abstention.
At a national level, the social impacts of this project will essentially be produced by the dissemination of results through less direct means, but which we consider equally effective, such as social networks and web pages. At European and international level, social impacts are aimed at due to the visibility that the project will have at European level, through the dissemination of the project, namely, on social networks and web pages of European partner organizations of the project, of the Erasmus+ Project Results Platform.
Portugal, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Macedonia participants took part on this TC.
Participants with few opportunities aged between 18y and 30y
During the project, several activities were carried out using non-formal education:
- Brainstorming
- Small group work (Buzz groups)
- Digital group dynamics
- Plenary sessions / Aquarium
- Interactive debate and discussions
- Interactive or cooperative games
- Theater / Simulations (Role play)
- Between others
NFE tools are important to stimulate learning in participants. However, these were just support tools to allow awareness and training, so they should not be seen as an end in themselves, but should be associated with specific educational objectives. Here the participants were seen as genuine protagonists of processes in which they analyzed problems, took the lead and made decisions, as well as articulated proposals that generated action and change. In this way, youth technicians get involved in actions in a more creative and committed way and become active agents of change.
By participating in the project, participants:
- Develop inclusive attitudes and behaviors, as well as personal and social learning and skills for active participation in society;
- Gain awareness of the importance and development of strategies aimed at promoting well-being and mental health;
- Acquire sensitivity to respect, tolerance, and intercultural dialogue;
- Acquire awareness of EU values and the sense of belonging as European citizens;
- Know and recognize new cultures and ways of being socially and culturally;
- Acquire and develop digital literacy skills;
- Develop your spirit of initiative and critical thinking;
- Adopt healthier lifestyles, adding physical exercise to their routines;
- Recognize the importance of well-being and mental health issues;
- Break stereotypes and prejudices associated with mental health and dance practice;
- Recognize the importance of non-formal education in the development of social and personal skills;
- Share learning and experiences in order to raise awareness of the importance of mental well-being and Erasmus+ projects;
- Develop greater awareness and awareness of mental health issues and knowledge about non-formal education methodology.
The following impacts are expected for organizations and stakeholders:
- Recognition of the Erasmus+ Program and the non-formal education methodology;
- Self-empowerment;
- Recognition of the importance of young people's mental health;
- Development of communication and cooperation skills in a European and project planning context;
- Development of networks of contacts at European level; the experience in implementing youth projects that aim at inclusive strategies, with concern for the well-being of young people;
- Replication of methodologies used in the exchange with its young people;
- Raising awareness of the importance of European involvement in promoting intercultural environments to combat the social exclusion of young people with fewer opportunities;
- Development of more innovative initiatives geared towards the needs of target groups, with the potential to influence national and European policies;
- Development of projects that value issues of mental health and social inclusion;
- Recognition of the need to adopt ecological measures in their work environment;
- Development of a more modern, committed, and dynamic organizational environment, ready to integrate good practices and share European experiences.
In this TC I was the main facilitator, I led the activities and I was in charge of the logistical part as well.
