TOY - Trainers Online for Youth

The mid-term evaluation serves as a pivotal moment for reflection and growth during the volunteering journey. Its primary goals are:
Reflective Assessment: To provide volunteers with a dedicated space to evaluate their journey so far, analysing the quality of support from their host organisation and the impact of their own personal contribution.
Collective Learning: To foster an environment where participants learn from the diverse experiences of their peers, using shared insights to enhance the quality of their remaining service.
Strategic Planning: To empower participants to design practical improvements for their current roles and to start visualising their long-term path—identifying how this experience will shape their future career and personal life.
Competence Recognition: To heighten awareness of the non-formal learning process, specifically by identifying skills gained and mapping them against the Youthpass key competences.
The project brought together a diverse group of 20 participants representing the full geographical reach of the European Solidarity Corps
The training was based on a non-formal education approach, using a variety of creative and interactive methods, including presentations, discussions, practical exercises, simulations, case studies, board games, individual and group work, energisers, brainstorming, and reflection sessions.
The training served as a vital milestone for participants to conduct a thorough evaluation of their achievements and milestones to date in Poland. By reflecting on their personal and professional growth, volunteers were able to transform their initial experiences into a clear roadmap, setting ambitious yet realistic goals for the remainder of their service. This forward-looking approach extended beyond the project’s duration, providing a structured space to design post-return action plans and explore how to effectively translate the specific competences gained—such as intercultural communication, language skills, and project management—into tangible assets for their future careers and social engagement back home.
I co-facilitated all sessions, actively steering the collective learning process and ensuring a supportive environment for all participants. Beyond group dynamics, I provided tailored individual consultations, serving as a mentor to help volunteers reflect critically on their personal and professional achievements.
