Training methods used & main activities

In the very beginning of the training course, to analyse their knowledge about media, I prepared a power point quiz made of some icons which are very popular in social media. With this small quiz, I was able to determine my way how deep I should go in the topic. Then I introduced what media is and types of media: computer media, social media, multimedia, massmedia and broadcast media with a power point show. Next step was to start from the printed media. To do this, participants designed a youth in action project and prepared a call for partners for their projects to be displayed in the social media. Vital parts are outlined in their sample call for partners. In another session I introduced the terminology of dissemination, exploitation and visibility and how to conduct them in YiA with a small lecture. Later I installed free tiral of fireworks program which helps to make graphics. With the new competences, they we were able to make their logos of their youth projects. After that audiovisiual media is introduced with installing movie maker and I helped them learn how to make a movie with cutting, adding effects to their short movie after the youth in action projects and how to put them in youtube and social media. Then I introduced good examples of websites and blogs of youth in action projects. We highlighted the vital elements which should be in the website/blog. Then I showed the steps how to make a blog in a very simple way by using wordpress. During this training, I handled the topics mostly by brainstorming, group work and lecture.

Outcomes of the activity

At the end of the training course, the participants were able to comperehend the process of dissemination, visibility and exploitation of the results of the youth projects and gained necessary tools and competences to use some computer programs fireworks, movie maker, related to media.
