Aims & objectives

Aim: Rising quality of non-formal education in youth work in Slovakia and Czech Republic and rising competences of youth workers

Objectives:
- to understand a logic of creating educational activity
- be able to plan, realize and evaluate non-formal educational activities
- develop their competences when working with group (facilitation, group dynamics, presentation...)
- get competences with using different tools for DEOR (dissemination and explotation of results)
- to understand new trends in rising quality of youth work and start using them in their practice
- get awareness about wider context of youth policy which youth work is part of
- to be able to use all aquired competences in participants practice

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

25 Participants were from Czech Republic and Slovakia and 5 team members as well.

Training methods used & main activities

Various methods from group work, lectures, discussions up to simulations (e.g. needs assessment in the small city and then discussion of results with local policy makers) or "homeworks" which are the tasks between the residential trainings where participants apply what they learned in their practice in their organisations.

Outcomes of the activity

We measured impact through evaluation, but also long term contact with participants. Most of the participants not only changed their practice, but influneced also a quality of youth work in their organisations. That is why we decided to run with some innovations also third run of this long term training in years 2016 - 2017

I worked on this training for 15 days days as a full time trainer.
