Aim
The aim of the course is to develop participants’ competences in enhancing youth participation in general and in Turkey in particular and to stimulate co-operation between different actors in the youth field in Turkey in co-operation with the international participants, for youth policy development and implementation.
Objectives
- To improve the competences of the participants in developing projects on youth participation, as part of youth policy development in Turkey;
- To improve participants’ knowledge about Council of Europe approaches to youth participation and principles of youth policy development and implementation, particularly the revised European Charter on Youth Participation in Local and Regional Life and the Manual “Have your say!”;
- To build participants’ competences regarding effective ways of implementing youth policies on local and national levels with the participants and their organizations/institutions;
- To deepen participants’ understanding of youth policy development in Turkey today and foster co-operation between governmental and non governmental actors;
- To develop personal and social competences of the participants regarding youth participation in youth work;
- To initiate projects and initiatives aimed at reinforcing youth participation and youth policy in Turkey at local and regional in co-operation, when suitable, with international partners;
- To network and plan future co-operation projects between participants;
- To support participants in a continuous learning process thanks to different tools such as residential seminars, e-learning, project development, educational advice.
The group is composed of Turkish and international participants from Romania, Italy, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Serbia. The trainers team composed of experienced trainers from Turkey, Italy, Moldova and Romania whom is also an educational advisor at DYS.
The methodology of the training seminar is based on the principles of non-formal education, focusing on experiential and intercultural learning.
The training designed as a long term training course composed of 2 residential trainings, an e-learning period and other activities such as evaluation and monitoring, mentoring participants, visits to the projects of the participants etc.
The participants had improved their understanding and competences on youth participation and youth policy development as well as the project development. Each participants developed a project idea to be implemented during the e-learning phase.
I was a member of the team responsible for the preparation, implementation and the evaluation of the residential courses as well as the design and the implementation of the e-learning phase and mentoring participants.
