Like the Story

Aims & objectives

Like the Story was an innovative 5-day Erasmus+ training course designed to develop the competences of youth workers, trainers and youth leaders to engage and empower young people to be critical of their information intake and source. Including to understand the effects that the sharing uncensored information may have in relation to the topic of migration and refugees.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

I was co-trainer with Sophie Breuker from Ireland. The participants were from 11 partner countries.

Training methods used & main activities

The methodology of the training was based in different forms of storytelling to deconstruct the negative messages of social media. We discussed topics like urban legends, click bait and used storytelling methods like transformative theater and collaging.

Outcomes of the activity

The participants became more critical of their social media intake, found creative was to discuss difficult topics and new ways to spread information to young people.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was co-trainer, we also developed the concept and the content together and I delivered half the sessions.

I worked on this training for 5 days as a full time trainer.
