Aims & objectives

“LGBTIQ Youth affirmative mental health approaches” was aiming at strengthening capacities of partner organisations in the mental health field, creating a network of EU community of practices, upskilling youth workers and mental health professionals from the field. Objective of this training was exchange of good practices through the development of innovative affirmative approaches based on the concept of affirmative mental health as a tool for working with LGBTIQ youth.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

We we are aiming at the youth workers that support mental health of young LGBTIQ people from Slovakia, Scotland, Greece, Ireland and Croatia.

Training methods used & main activities

In this training we were exploring open space methodology and body oriented approaches in working with LGBTIQ youth mental health that could potentially lead to regaining strength, power, self esteem and self acceptance.

Outcomes of the activity

As part of this activity we have created Guide book and series of educational/tool presenting videos for LGBTIQ+ youth workers and mental health professionals.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was organiser and one of the trainers in this training activity.

I worked on this training for 5 days as a full time trainer.
