Let's Train on Peace Education

The training activity took place
in Tbilisi, Georgia
organised by SALTO EECA RC, SALTO Cultural Diversity and Polish National Agency of Youth in Action programme
October 3-10, 2010

Aims & objectives

1. To explore youth work experiences and developments in conflict areas/situations (social, economical, political, intercultural, etc.)
2. To increase skills and abilities in peace building through youth work
3. To create partnerships for future projects within Youth in Action Programme in peace building

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Participants of the training course were from Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Turkey, Belgium, Armenia, Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Serbia, Palestine, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon.

Team was composed by trainers from Georgia and Italy. Organisers from Poland, UK and Georgia.

Training methods used & main activities

Simulation exercises, role plays, interactive presentations and inputs, small group work, reflection groups, study visits etc.

Outcomes of the activity

Participants developed their competences in the field of Peace education, media campaigns, conflict analyses, activity planning, youth in action programme, intercultural learning etc.

Above mentioned was identified trough daily and final evaluation activities.

As the outcome of the training where developed five international projects by the participants in the field of Peace Education for young people.

All five projects were implemented and in addition as the follow-up participants developed further projects on the basis of established cooperation.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

My task was to design, prepare, implement and evaluate training activity together with my co-trainer. As well as to write educational report of the training.

I worked on this training for 6 working days days as a full time trainer.
