Aims & objectives

Develop basic knowledge, skills, and attitudes of leadership and community youth work.
Explore the role of community youth work in reconciliation and conflict transformation.
Create opportunities for personal and social development and develop a reflective, analytical and professional approach to their work.
Develop work with young people and have opportunities to be active in the development of their communities and to contribute to the development of community youth work structures and policies.

Target Group:
People interested in working with young people, from youth NGO's in Bosnia, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia.

Training methods used & main activities

Non formal education approach. Process and advanced group work techniques. Group engages in reflective and analytical approach. Games and exercises. Role plays. Theoretical inputs. Individual support work. Fieldwork placements with young people. Self assessment.

Outcomes of the activity

Trained and tested potential youth workers able to work in a variety of youth work settings on a basic level. Developed understanding of community and the open and latent conflicts that exist in each community and how this relates to them as potential workers and the young people they work with.

Supporting the learning and development of the group. Training. Programme writer. Quality assurance.
