Aims & objectives

Aim:
To promote and maintain the current democratic values and strengthen the belief of its importance amongst young people.

Objectives:
a) Deepen youth workers' understanding upon the meaning and importance of democracy, also the role of the European Union to preserve it.
b) Deepen youth workers' understanding upon the factors which can decrease the strength of democracy and the effects of its deconsolidation.
c) Equip youth workers with skills and competences how to maintain democracy: critical thinking, detection of fake news, fighting populism.
d) Raise youth workers' awareness on the current political issues, and how to be active citizen in Europe.
e) Provide youth workers with new non-formal methods by which they will promote the importance of democracy and the participation in democratic life amongst young people
f) Raise youth workers' confidence in organizing local activities upon promoting the values of democracy designed by non-formal methods.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

27 youth workers from the partner organisations in Hungary, Lithuania, Greece, Poland, Spain, Portugal, Turkey and Denmark
