TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Andreea Maris
The training activity aimed to strengthen the capacity of National Agency (NA) staff in managing and supporting KA2 projects across the full project life cycle. It focused on enhancing understanding of key programme elements, including project design, final reports, dissemination, and impact, while fostering peer exchange and mutual learning among participants.
A key objective was to create a shared space for reflection on current practices, identify common challenges, and collaboratively explore solutions. The activity also aimed to contribute to shaping future approaches to KA2 by collecting input from participants and feeding this into a joint reflection document on the future development of the programme.
The training built on previous meetings held every 18 months, the previous session was held in January 2024 in Dijon. For this event, a stronger focus was placed on the training aspect for participants, not only facilitation of the meeting.
This event was aimed at programme officers working with both KA210 and KA220 in the youth sector.
The training used a combination of interactive, reflective, and experiential methods, ensuring active participation and peer learning.
Examples include:
Timeline reflection (“little story / big story” method)
- mapping developments in KA2 at both national and European level;
Small group discussions and peer learning
- exploring challenges and solutions related to the project life cycle;
Synergy-focused reflection and group work (KA2–TCA)
- participants explored how TCA activities can support KA2 implementation, particularly in strengthening beneficiaries’ and evaluators’ capacities, packaging knowledge, and creating continuity between training activities and project development
Outcomes:
Strengthened participants’ understanding of the KA2 project life cycle, including key challenges and support mechanisms;
Increased clarity on evaluation practices, including quality assessment;
Enhanced capacity to support beneficiaries in project design, dissemination, and impact planning;
Facilitated the exchange of good practices between National Agencies;
Strengthened understanding of synergies between KA2 and TCA, including how TCA can support capacity building, project development, and programme implementation;
Strengthened collaboration and networking among participants.
Collaboration with the NA staff to agree on the desired concept. Design and facilitation of the training.
We were very happy with Andreea's work on this training. Both in the design phase as well as on location.
