Aims & objectives

The activity was especially addressed to newcomer organizations/participants but also open to organizations with experience that were interested in knowing new partners.
By exploring the new European Solidarity Corps in different dimensions, methods and resources, this TC intend to promote innovation and creativity in the developing of youth volunteering activities by exchanging methods, experiences, points of view and ideas.
The objectives for this TC were:
- to ensure a thorough understanding of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC);
- to explore and understand the different roles within a ESC project ;
- to feel inspired by non formal education methods and exercises that could help the organisations and their actors to fell more empowered and acquire new skills and competences;
- to provide space for sharing realities, experiences and good practice examples;
- to share and exchange new methods for developing competences and recognise learning with young people;
- to provide space for networking between participating organisations and planning of further Partnership Building Activities, Seminars, Volunteering Projects, Solidarity Projects, Traineeships and others.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

We have 23 participants, representing 7 countries: Croatia, Italy, Lithuania, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden and Portugal.

Training methods used & main activities

Through the principles and practices of non-formal education and in an atmosphere where participants can learn from each other and act with each other , “Jump into Solidarity” will open an intercultural dialogue and will make room for the acquirement of new skills and the exchange of methods and experiences within the volunteering world.
- Teambuilding
- Experiential learning and peer learning;
- Individual and group reflection with a journal;
- Mindmapping and other visual schemes made by the participants themselves;
- Participatory games for the introduction on the theme of volunteering and solidarity;
- World Cafe
- outdoor activities to develop group building and to create challenges;
- simulation exercise

Outcomes of the activity

We have written an evaluation report of this training with various outcomes.
- participants were satisfied with the programme and feel ready to start new partnerships. They design in draft 6 projects to apply for 2019.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was one of three trainers, responsible for the development of the training as well as the complete facilitation.

I worked on this training for 5 days as a full time trainer.
