“Into The Future” fit the goals of the organisation for quality services and social inclusion. It aimed to
-provide the space to explore challenges, improve youth work competences and create long-lasting partnerships
-inform and train youthworkers in the eight
competences from the "Competence Model for Youth Workers”
-establish long-term partnerships among partners
on this project
-support youth organizations in increasing the capacity
by identifying and addressing challenges
-increase the knowledge and skills of youth workers
by learning from each other
The training involved 30 youth workers from 9 different countries/territories: Jordan, Lebanon, Belarus, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Morocco, and Germany.
The methods that were used were focused on the "Competence Model for Youth Workers”. They included workshops on Facilitating individual and group learning, Displaying intercultural competence, Collaborating successfully in teams, Designing programmes, Organising and managing resources, Networking and advocating, and Developing evaluative practices to assess and implement appropriate change.
The training was successful as it brought together youthworkers from diverse backgrounds and reignited the passion for local youthwork. New projects were created, a network was established and local follow-up workshops were implemented in their respective countries.
MY role as a trainer was to bring my experience with local youthwork into the field. I facilitated activities on team-building and trust, meaningful communication, designing activities with youth, intercultural values and evaluation methods.
