International Volunteers Forum of Islamic countries

Aims & objectives

During forum trainers aimed to deliver 3 days trainings on aiming to prioritize youth volunteering in Islamic Countries and empower NGOs to create more volunteering spaces for young people in their countries.
Objectives
- To introduce non-fromal education and human rights education approach in working with volunteers
- To boost cooperation between Islamic countries through regional exchange opportunities for young volunteers
- To create network of NGOs prioritizing youth volunteering in Islamic Countries
- To introduce good case practices of volunteer management from European and Turkish experience

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Target group: 30 different nationalities

- NGO leaders from Islamic Countries
- Young Trainers
- Youth Workers
- Young Volunteers and Multipliers

Team of trainers composed of nationalities coming from from Turkey, Pakistan, Azerbaijan and Albania.

Training methods used & main activities

- Group reflection and mapping of national realities
- Group Presentations
- Visual Reasoning
- Getting to know each other activities for network development
- Timeline creation for network's development

Outcomes of the activity

- Network of NGO leaders and volunteers from Islamic countries was established
- Participants got basic knowledge and understanding of non-formal education tools and methodology
- Participants came up with exact follow-up actions and created timeline for creating international /regional exchange opportunities for

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

- To conduct needs assessment based on the applications of participants
- To develop 3 days programme of the training within the forum
- To facilitate learning and networking experiences of the participants
- To cooperate with other trainers and provide daily feedback on the delivery objectives of the training
