International training for youth workers in CORE SKILLS FOR EMPLOYMENT

Aims & objectives

The training course aimed to develop youth workers' competences to plan and deliver non-formal educational sessions focusing on the development of core skills for employment with young people who are experiencing disadvantages, in order to reduce inequalities among young people and ensure that they make a successful move from education into employment, that way avoiding social and labor market exclusion.

Objectives of the training were:
- To develop competencies how to identify and approach young people who are experiencing disadvantages;
- To explore non-formal education as a tool for the development of core skills for employment.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Participants of the training course were youth workers, social workers and other professionals from Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine.

Training methods used & main activities

Methodology of the training course was be based on non-formal education approaches. Experiential and cooperative learning methods were actively used, as well as individual approach and reflection during
learning were ensured.

Outcomes of the activity

Participants have had chance to develop their competences to plan and deliver non-formal educational sessions focusing on the development of core skills for employment with young people who are experiencing disadvantages, in order to reduce inequalities among young people and ensure that they make a successful move from education into employment, that way avoiding social and labor market exclusion.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was one of the trainer of the course with other two colleagues with whom we have developed the program, lead the training course and evaluated.

I worked on this training for 6 days as a full time trainer.
