International training course "Human Rights Education with Mixed Ability Groups"

Aims & objectives

- To familiarize participants with the concepts of human rights, social inclusion and human rights education, as well as consider the possibilities of their practical application at the local level
- To develop the competencies of participants necessary for working with youth in the field of human rights education with mixed groups and for conducting quality educational programs and projects in the field of human rights education with youth;
- To familiarize participants with the values, principles and methods of education in the field of human rights and to promote their use in educational programs with young people;
- To create conditions for the exchange of realities and successful practices in the field of human rights education with various youth in the EU countries, the Eastern Partnership region and Russia, to promote cooperation and training through experience;
- Provide space for studying the features of educational events with the participation of youth with and without disabilities;
- Introduce participants to Youthpass and other training tools;
- To acquaint participants with the capabilities of the Erasmus + program for the implementation of joint projects;
- To promote the development of cooperation among participants in the development of common ideas for projects and activities that will be implemented after the course.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

This Training Course was for 24 participants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russian Federation, Ukraine

Training methods used & main activities

The methodology of the training course is based on human rights education, non-formal and inclusive education. The opinions, views and experience of the participants will serve as the basis for reflection and discussion of best practices. Practical exercises and a practical laboratory for human rights education will be the main element of the program. The training, which forms the basis of the course, will give participants the opportunity to develop their professional competencies through active participation, teamwork and group dynamics, learning through experience, exercises - simulations, interactive role-playing exercises, working with cases, as well as theoretical materials, practical exercises in multilevel groups . The entire project will be based on a human rights education methodology. Coaches will use the best practices of the European Union and the Council of Europe in the field of youth work. Salto Resource Centers will also be reviewed and used throughout the course. Different working methods will contribute to the active involvement of each participant. Acquaintance with the principles and values ​​of human rights education, work with values ​​and attitudes is an important part of the program aimed at the further implementation of high-quality educational programs and activities in the field of human rights education.

Outcomes of the activity

The participants received thorough training as organizers, methodologists and trainers of educational events. During the course, they developed their own educational sessions, concepts of local events and ideas for international cooperation. It is expected that all participants (individually or jointly with other participants) after participating in the course will conduct local educational events, applying human rights education in practice.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

preparation of a training program, conducting sessions on human rights, facilitation of groups, evaluation of training, preparation of a report.

I worked on this training for 10 days as a full time trainer.
