Aims & objectives

The aim of this project is to develop set of intercultural competences and use non-formal
education (NFE) to develop common tools and strategies that can be applied in order to change
the negative perception that young people have regarding the cultural and religious diversity and
to prevent radicalization.
Objectives:

• Develop participants cross-cultural communication skills and ability to engage in constructive
dialogue across difference
• Raising awareness on the role of media in encouraging stereotypes and prejudices – media and
Internet as a tool for hate and youth radicalization
• Encourage and support use of global education as a tool to raise the awareness of cultural and
religious differences, current political situation, movements and events
• Develop the ability to think more critically and complexly about issues relevant to engaging
with difference, especially those between Western world and predominantly Muslim societies
• Develop a long-term interest in cross-cultural communication and engagement with
differences, same as to encourage and support future cooperation withing the Erasmus+ frame.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Partners were;
1. Bulgarian Youth Forum, Bulgaria,

6. Estufa, Portugal

Training methods used & main activities

Only NFE methods and tools were used to conduct the entire activity. Lots of working time were used as shared spaces to discuss the local, national, European and Global issues related topic.
Most of the activities were used from the Council of Europe manuals , such as Compass, Bookmarks, WE CAN. Those activities were adopted & revised to fit with the content of the TC.

Outcomes of the activity

The project was accommodated at the Venue of De Montford University, Leicester, UK. The location itself was a great highlight in the biggest student area of the city where one day our participants had a chance to be invited into an International Conference “Human Trafficking & Child Sexual Exploitation – Violence against the Vulnerable” https://mygateway.dmu.ac.uk/Form.aspx?id=1243718 and represent four thematic workshops in the frame of our training course.
There are publications and two new projects written as follow ups of the TC.
