Aims & objectives

The way how one person understand the terms "diversity","multiculturalism","tolerance",
"inclusion" and "active participation"
determines its actions and activities in the society or online, which can influence a conflict or reconciliation.
With this project we deliver to the youth workers working with young people, especially youngsters with fewer opportunities, as well as migrants and refugees, a top a quality training course on diverse tools and methods for personal development and active participation in the
inclusion processes of the vulnerable groups, especially migrants and
refugees, but also LGBTI youth.
This project offers the youth workers 2 stages of work with their youth:
1. Self-evaluation - how we understand certain topics, what is our
position, why we think and act in certain ways (psychological, reflective,
theoretical point)
2. Tools and methods for engagement towards inclusion and activism
online and offline, in the work with young people (practical point)

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

In this training course participated wonderful participants from: Germany, Estonia, Macedonia, Georgia, Albania, Egypt, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Lebanon and Greece

Training methods used & main activities

We used diverse non-formal and informal educational methods:
- energizers, ice breakers, name games
- psychological excercises for self-awareness and self-reflection
- Role play games
- Simulations
- Interactive presentations
- Fish bowl / World Cafe - methods for exploring terms
- Theater of the oppressed
- Loesje creative writing
- Study cases
- Interactive presentations
- Disscussions and debates

Outcomes of the activity

This trainng coure has a really big impact of the participants attitudes and behaviours. Through the self-reflection part, they looked deeply in their own personalities and became aware about certain attitudes towards their target groups.
The participants got knowledge about psychological excercises that can use in their daily work with the marginalised youth, fostering active participation.
Also the participants got knowledge about tools and methods for empowerment, exchanged ideas and got familiar with the activities of the other organisations.
During the multimedia workshops, the participants learned new digital and ICT tools that can be used in their activities online. Also they created a newpaper and short videos that are published on the Loesje Berlin YouTube chanel.
Among a lot of exchanged tools and methods, the highlight of the project are the Loesje posters made during the Loesje creative writing workshop ( they are published on the Loesje web page www.loesje.org).
