TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Clair BROWN
The aim of this activity was to bring individuals together practitioners with experience of working with excluded youth and NEET (not in education, employment or training) young people. We planned that participants would explore good practice in national and international youthwork and have chance to develop future partnerships and Youth in Action projects.
The team was made up from British, Spanish and French and participants joined us from UK, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Cyprus, Italy, Turkey, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Croatia. The participant profile was excellent ranging from fulltime volunteers in organisations to governmental descision makers.
The training was interactive and varied, offering participants visits to local EVS inclsuion projects, advice and guidance on how to prepare and deliver YiA and LLP mobility programmes, workshops on funding rules as well as lots of opportunity for contact making, intercultural exchange and fun.
The training gave participants a wealth of information as well as the opportunity to go deeper into the Youth in Action programme, offering surgeries on individual actions. As a result of this workshop we are aware that 7 people with fewer opportunities have been successfully placed on EVS projects through partners who were present and two individuals have applied to take part in a Grundtvig Assistantship as well as one organisation having two Action 4.3 projects approved. A DVD of 4.3 minutes was created as a result of this training as well as a liveblog:http://inclusionininternationalyouthwork.blogspot.co.uk/
I arranged this training inclusing developing and delivering the training content. In addition to the training delivery I worked in a team of three around recruiting participants, evaluation and visibility.
