Aims & objectives

Youth in Action project: Training Course, Sub - Action 3.1
Training course “Heuristic Game“ held from 1st - 9th of March 2011 was about using creative methods, art and music for inclusion of social excluded young people from different cultural, ethnic and religious background.

The main goal of our training course “Heuristic Game“ was to offer to participants new art techniques and learning methods for improving inclusion of excluded groups of youth – young people from different cultural, religious and ethnic background.

Objectives were:
- to promote inclusion as a most significant value working with youth with fewer opportunities
- to encourage excluded young people from different cultural, ethnic and religious background to play an active role in their communities
- to stimulate participants to have reflection on the essential characteristics of European society and foster mutual understanding between young people in different countries
- to contribute participants development of creative capabilities and skills in youth work using learning and creative methods (art and music techniques)

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Target group on this training course were people actively involved in work with social excluded youth from different cultural, ethnic and religious background (youth workers, youth leaders, NGO activists, school teachers, social workers).

Duration: Total project - took period of four months in total.
Training Course lasted: 9 days excluding travel days

The countries involved: Serbia, Albania, Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain and Turkey.

The Number of participants was: 17

Training methods used & main activities

On this training course, using non formal way of learning (creative methods, art and music), participants have got necessary knowledge and skills about new art techniques and methods. With this, participants became multipliers of products from our training course in their local communities.

The implemented activities were: art activities and learning sessions.
The applied methods: non-formal way of learning. This included: games, energisers, ice-breakers, team building exercises, individual and group activities, work on practical examples in a small groups, thematic workshops for making instruments, playing instruments, voice techniques, music energizers (self-expresion of an individual musicans), individual and group music improvisations, drawings, making masks, photography, video, making objects, working in contact with the nature.

Outcomes of the activity

The theme of our training course was inclusion of social excluded youth groups through music and art activities.

Through research “Heuristic Game“, participants came to creation of one different, unusual music, which is mixture of all cultural impacts which participants transform through more multy-interactions music and all other kinds of art in one specific and original product.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

In this training course my role was trainer. I worked with co trainer Veljko Nikolic “Papa Nik” – expert for music, multimedia art and educator (http://www.fabrikart.org/veljko_nikolic.htm)

As a trainer, I was responsible to cover topics that are related with cultural diversity, social inclusion, human rights issue, Youth in Action Programme advocacy, steps for future cooperation and writing project proposals.

Through professional cooperation with Association Fabrik Art team and my colleague co trainer Veljko Nikolic, this training course was successfully finished.

I worked on this training for 9 days as a full time trainer.
