Aims & objectives

The training activity wanted to:
- Bring awareness for burnout disease (officially by WHO since 2020), its symptons and why some people are more at risk then others
- Teach about resilience, holistic resilience
- Learn by experience resilience building individual and collective tools created by Eramus KA2 project called HEART and HEARTLAND
- Provide outdoor experiential learning expedition experience to emphacise the importance of spending time in nature, nature connection and of team building
- Provide the opportunity for participants to integrate the learning, get facilitation tools, and get clarifies eventual questions on how to put the tools in practice, through a learning activity of learn by leading/facilitating the resilience building tools

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Youthworkers, social workers, educators with jobs, roles, personal life circunstances that are extremely demanding and put them at risk of burnout

The countries and nationalities involved were:
Portugal, Romania, Greece, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia

Training methods used & main activities

Some of the non formal education used
outdoor experiential learning - expedition, moon walk (slackline walk supported by collective)
art expression - building collective landart sculpture, painting expedition journey
movement - cristal collective dance
theatre expression - performing the end of red shoes story; presenting training experience in different dramatic ways ( radio, soap opera, pantomime)
learn by leading - participants facilitate a workshop
the way of council - opening and closing circles
brainstorm - what is burnout? what is resilience? what is holistic resilience?
Group work and presentation - how to build holistic resilience?
daily group reflections on learnings

Outcomes of the activity

Training prepare youth workers to learn about burnout and signs of risk and how to prevent their own burnout, and build holistic resilience of youngsters and of their collegues
The activities of the training allowed participants to understand the benefits of resilience building from the experience and the general wellbeing and how they prevent burnout
the participants got a set of tools that experiement and many others that they can use to facilitate to youthworkers collegues or youngsters to build resilience and prevent burnout

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was one of 2 Trainers:
- we design together the program
- we had daily evening meetings to relfect and review any changes on the program
- we had daily morning meeting to prepare the day activities
- we wrote report and evaluation of the training together
- I facilitate half of the activities of the program and support the other half, and vice versa

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
