Aims & objectives

The term healthy lifestyle has been thrown around a lot over the last few years and, although we all aspire to have one, very few young people actually know what it is. If you ask most young people what a healthy lifestyle is they will simply say it means eating healthy. Sadly though, this is only one part of having and living a healthy life. Our project aims to combine the knowledge of several organisations from different EU countries on the various elements of a healthy lifestyle, combining the knowledge and learning from each other’s experiences and expertise so that we can help more young people in each of our communities and in the rest of the EU to understand what it means to have a healthy lifestyle and also to understand the importance and correct approach to each aspect that affects a healthy lifestyle.

Our objectives are to examine the various elements of a healthy lifestyle, including diet, lifestyle choices, sexual health and sexual activity, stress and ways to maintain a healthy mind, dealing with issues of professional sport, sport as a means of keeping fit and sports as a healthy lifestyle choice and also how culture and customs affect our lifestyle choices. By looking deeply into all of the above we can formulate methods and approaches to help young people in all communities to overcome problems and start living a healthy lifestyle.

The issues that need to be addressed in this project are health problems associated with youth that can be avoided and are a direct result of bad lifestyle choices resulting from the lack of knowledge of youngsters. These could include illnesses like diabetes, obesity, heart disease and also youth pregnancy and lack of physical activity.

All these issues and many more will be covered in this training course using the experiences, good and bad practices found within the partnerships and we will develop working models for each of the partners to use in their communities to help young people maintain a healthy lifestyle.

By combining all these different approached we can offer young people a better idea of all the aspects which make up a balances and healthy lifestyle offering them them correct choices to remain healthy and fit.
