Coconutwork NGO works organised 2 sessiosn in a french high school in Nice to talk about the online hate speach and the prevention of disciminatory speaches online that can occur generaly on social media but also in the professional environment.
The objective is to raise awareness on how the hate speach apprears, how to prevent it, how to fight it and how to manage it.
Young people are facing very often discimination and hate speach online but can face it in the ir future professional life. these interventions are hald in classrooms, with their teacher.
The target groups were two classroom of 30 students each coming from different cultural and social backgrounds.
The sources of information chosen, the exemplaes come from worldwide and aim at presenting different type of discriminations that could happen online to anyone.
Presentation of concepts, discussion, team building, digital tools ...
The training was a success thanks to the positive feedbacks provided by the high school, the teacher and the students themselves. An online assessment tool was shared at the end (anonymous) to evaluate their interest, what they have learnt and if they thank that it was usefull. The results were very good, which will encourage Coconutwork to organise other interventions in schools in the future.
