The main aim of our project is to build the capacities of youth workers to work with young people on green economy, green jobs, green competencies and environmental topics. Specific objectives of the organisations and the participants were
- Raise awareness and competencies of youth workers to teach and share knowledge on green economy, green jobs, and green competencies;
- Build capacities of youth organizations to work on green economy, green jobs and green competencies;
- Equip 25 youth workers with knowledge, skills and tools on the topics of green economy, green jobs, and green competencies;
- Showcase and share good-case examples of green economy and integration of vulnerable groups in green jobs;
- Foster networking and cooperation between youth organizations and youth workers to work on green economy, green jobs and green competencies;
- Promote Erasmus+ programme, EU Green New Deal, and EU values
The training was implemented using non-formal education methods and focused on the European Youth Goals 2019-2027, especially Green New Deal and the Circular Economy Action Plan.
25 youth workers from North Macedonia, Croatia, Hungary, Albania and Greece participated in the training course. They were interested in learning how to be more green in youthwork, able to work in English, open minded, tolerant and had experience in working with youth people in local level.
The project was implemented using Non-formal education methods such as peer learning, learning by doing- participants, discussions and interactive presentations, sessions focused on environmental topics and sustainability, debates as method to explore the necessity of the youth workers green competencies in their future work, case studies and simulations will be used as methods to explore soft skills and emotional intelligence.
The participants learned how to reuse, repair recycle how to make their venue/workplace greener, upgraded their soft skills, enhanced their emotional intelligence skills through the sessions, tools and methods that will be used. By working in a multicultural environment and sharpening their critical thinking, they were able approach different topics from different perspectives taking into consideration the current circumstances of the situation.
I was the co-trainer of the project. My sessions were focused on getting to know each other, using the youthpass as a tool for documenting the learning outcomes, networking, the climate crisis and its impact on economy in Europe, upgrading soft skills and sessions on leadership and creativity.
