TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Eleni Kardamitsi
The main aim was to enable educators working in the field of adult education to re-evaluate their work, educational practice and define their vision and mission in order to create the foundation of their personal brand.
The needs were to:
- Get familiar with the concept of personal branding.
- Re-evaluate personal meta programmes, fears,
limiting beliefs and value base.
- Test different methods, tools and techniques.
- Discuss the basics of transferring the knowledge to
adult learners.
- Learn how to create basic self-presentation tools.
The group was composed of 20 educators from Austria, Greece, Lithuania and Poland. They were experienced in education and actively participating in the sending organization, committed to participate in 100% of
the project and follow up activities and motivated to learn about personal branding and develop digital skills.
Non-formal education was the main methodology followed during the training. Ice-breakers, name games, energizers, world cafes, presentations, debates and role playing were some of the activities implemented. The participants reinforced their peer learning, learning by doing and of course self-directed learning.
The training succeeded in inspiring a change in the way of thinking regarding the traditional approach to viewing oneself and one ́s skills as a brand, and the empowerment of both educators and adult learners to take a leap and make themselves visible as service providers on the market, hereby making the field where they work more competitive and fulfilling. It went hand in hand with developing self-confidence and creativity, shaping intercultural competences and increasing the use of digital tools.
I supervised the learning process, created a safe environment for the group and led workshops on personal branding, targeting the audience, doing marketing research and finding the vision and mission.
