This is a reference for Grigor Yeritsyan
The objective of the seminar were following:
- to learn about gender equality and share / compare the realities in EU and Caucasus,
- exchange experiences between youth workers and young people on the difficulties to find a gender balance in terms of participation of women,
- to develop participants knowledge and understanding on various concepts related to gender issues and emphasize the importance of gender equality in youth work and other areas,
- to promote gender equality in youth work and international youth projects,
- to facilitate a networking process among participants and promote new common projects related to gender equality.
International Seminar "Gender Equality; From Theory to Reality" brought together 30 young people from EU countries (Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Estonia, Lithuania) and Neighboring Partner Countries from Eastern Europe and Caucasus (Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine). The seminar was designed for youth leaders, educators and youth workers.
The activities were implemented with the support of non-formal education methods and tools (exercises, group presentations, workshops, debates, role plays, forum theatre, open space, open café, outdoor activities, team building).
The project promotes equal opportunities, human rights and respect towards other cultures. During the seminar participants had a chance to visit different local organizations and learn about main gender issues in Armenia. Through exchange of ideas, creation of new projects and acquiring knowledge on gender issues, participants will contribute to gender equality in their organizations by deepening the role of their NGOs in the promotion of gender equality and establishing real gender equality inside their NGOs.
With my colleague I was mainly responsible for designing and implementing the program, content of the Training Course and thematic sessions. We were also supporting participants in networking and developing their own projects.
