Gender Clubs for Forum Theatre in the Small Towns

Aims & objectives

Aims:
-Giving to young people how to become professional youth-workers
-Prepare the participants to manage one youth club (at local and regional level) by their self and to be efficient
-Giving knowledge about all the laws and the documents to be in contact the institutions
-Gender equality problem solving
-Skills how to behave in public speech and on contact with public bodies

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

30 participants (3 per each city), from all over Pleven Region.
20 participants were coming from immigrant families, speaking only in english and little of bulgarian languages (involved in the project to cut the gap between the immigrant dimension and the new Bulgarian context).

Training methods used & main activities

The activities used were based on non-formal education approach.
To empower the youngesters in their self confidence, we have used the following tools: teambuilding activities, energisers, "Starting points" (simulation of the job market and buying/paying capacity reflection); "Thinking tank" (combination of working groups+presentation by participants, the fishbowl method, and the agree-disagree discussion method); "Mute director" (trying on different roles, communication through non-verbal methods, visual imput involved by the participants); "Emperor's pot" (simulation of intercultural negotiations process), simulations of job interviews with difficulties that may arise.

Outcomes of the activity

The participants scaled most of the questions 70 and above (on the scale of 0-100).
Apart from non-formal and in-formal process, the participants have also gathered around 110 answers on questionnaire regarding youth entrepreneurship.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

Trainer 24/7 working in all the fields, starting from the writing until all the activities played in the training.

I worked on this training for 8 days as a full time trainer.
