Aims & objectives

The training aimed to equip its participants with skills to communicate in a more meaningful and understanding way, as well as to become fosterers/facilitators of such communication among groups of people.

Participants acquired skills on:
- active listening
- asking questions that promote dialogue
- giving constructive feedback
- being neutral as facilitators

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

In both rounds, participants were connecting from different continents, mostly from European and African countries.

Training methods used & main activities

The training was run on non-formal education methods, heavily relying on hands-on activities for the participants to practice the skills they were introduced to. Some of the methods were: pair & group tasks and discussions, dealing with case studies, guided reflections, giving and receiving feedback.

Outcomes of the activity

Given the feedback that was mentioned by the participants after the training, there was a high satisfaction rate. Some participants also mentioned that they started using some of the skills in their contexts outside of the training and that this was helpful for them.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team
