The aim of this training course was to empower those, who work with groups of young people to be confident and free in challenging and unexpected moments and enable them to use improvisation techniques with young people.

To achieve this aim we set the following objectives:

- to develop improvisation skills of youth workers/educators/trainers
- to learn how to use and apply improvisation tools while working with young people to improve self-confidence, support learning and cooperation in teams, and release the creativity of youth

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

21 participants from Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Poland, Slovak Republic, Spain, Turkey

Training was organised by Hungarian NA in cooperation with Polish NA, German NA and Turkish NA.

Training methods used & main activities

During the training course participants experienced improvisation through different methods (artistic creation, theatre, dance etc.) as individuals, working in smaller groups and as a whole group. We reflected on the personal experiences and connected those to situations in daily life and youth work practice. Besides the opportunity of exploring improvisation, participants learnt how to apply the newly gained methods and tools in their every day youth work, and empower young people to free their creativity and increase their self-confidence.

Outcomes of the activity

At the end of the training participants shared how did they feel empowered as persons. They listed their ideas how to apply gained knowledge and skills in their daily youth work practice.

Evaluation of the training course was sent to all NAs involved in the project.
