The seminars main goal was a reflection of gender roles being reproduced in mainstream media and film industry and how that influences our every day being, interaction and politics. In trying out different roles which were filmed also by the participants, the students also had a chance to learn about film making.
The group consisted of a Dutch, a German and an Italian group, each accompanied by a team of teachers.
Theatre and acting methods, World cafe, film making, outdoor activities for group processes, biografical methods, different methods for large groups, warm-up and energizers.
The students produced 4 films with mixed up gender roles. From the first hand experience of acting/seing the typcial Male/female attributes played out by someone who odesnt normally identify with it was very impressive. Soem students clearly stated what seeing the limitations of their roles in mainstream media and society had meant for them.
Putting together the whole concept, frame and programm with the team. Researching examples of media content and structuring input. Facilitating large group sessions (more than 60 people) and smaller gruop sessions with interactive methods. Workingng with student film teams, helping with editing and structuring. Organizing evaluation and feedback.
