Aims & objectives

Aim:
The project “Fair Life: Well-being” aimed to promote holistic well-being and social inclusion by creating an inclusive space where young people from diverse backgrounds can explore physical, emotional, and social balance while fostering personal growth, resilience, and meaningful community engagement.

Objectives:

To promote holistic well-being by encouraging participants to reflect on and develop their physical, emotional, and social balance through mindfulness, movement, creative expression, and contact with nature.

To foster personal growth and resilience by providing opportunities for self-reflection, slowing down, and discovering new perspectives in a supportive environment.

To strengthen inclusive practices by bringing together people with diverse abilities, experiences, and backgrounds, ensuring equal participation and valuing every voice in group life and activities.

To encourage authentic encounters and relationship-building through collaborative workshops, open conversations, and shared daily experiences.

To enhance community engagement and solidarity by organizing joint activities with local residents, promoting mutual understanding, active participation, and positive social impact.

To reinforce inclusion as a shared social value by integrating inclusive principles into all aspects of the project, from group processes to community interaction.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The team consisted of the main organiser, two trainers who were responsible for group dynamics and training flow, workshop trainers who represented different countries and led workshops for the young people on a specific topic related to Wellbeing.

Training methods used & main activities

The methods used during my specific workshops were:

1) Experiential Learning – Learning by doing through active participation, reflection and direct experience.

2) Embodied and Movement-Based Activities – Body awareness exercises, free movement, walking meditation and physical regulation techniques.

3) Energisers and Group Activation Games – Name games, ball exercises and rhythm activities to build focus and group cohesion.

4) Creative Arts Methods – Painting, body sculptures, visual expression and symbolic movement storytelling.

5) Music and Rhythm Exploration – Movement influenced by different music styles and body percussion exercises.

6) Role-Play and Theatre Techniques – Simulated real-life scenarios, mirror exercises and emotional corridor activities.

7) Emotional Literacy Training – Use of emotion wheels, naming feelings and structured emotional reflection.

8) Nonviolent Communication Practice – Transforming blaming language into I-statements using structured communication formulas.

9) Mindfulness and Self-Regulation Practices – Breathing awareness, journaling, free writing and guided self-reflection.

10) Small-Group and Peer Learning – Pair work, rotating wellbeing stations, collaborative tasks, and reflection circles to strengthen empathy and cooperation.

Outcomes of the activity

Outcomes of Workshops on Body Movement and Mindfulness:
Participants demonstrated:
- Increased body awareness and sensitivity to physical signals
- Greater confidence in non-verbal expression
- Improved understanding of personal limits and stretch zones
- Enhanced empathy and cooperation skills
- Deeper awareness of how music influences emotional and physical states
- Stronger group cohesion and trust
Many participants reported discovering new ways of expressing emotions without words and becoming more conscious of how their bodies react in different social situations.
Outcomes of workshops on Emotional Awareness and Resilience
Despite feeling awkward talking about their feelings and emotions, naming the difficult emotions and expressing them, not always knowing the name of the feeling, participants felt the shift and a change after saying out loud their feelings, it felt 'different' for them more emotionally aware.

Participants demonstrated throughout the workshop:
- Increased ability to identify emotions in the body
- Improved empathy and listening skills
- Better clarity in expressing needs
- Reduced reliance on blaming communication patterns
- Practical emotional regulation strategies
- Strengthened self-awareness and group trust
Many participants expressed that they became more conscious of their emotional reactions and felt better equipped to respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was responsible to prepare the workshops on the topics of Body Movement, Body Mindfulness, Emotional Awareness and Self-Expression; I was responsible to conduct the workshops, prepare the participants also for the final sharing of what they had discovered during the sessions, about the topics and themselves. I was present at evaluations and cooperated with other trainers in order to have a logical cohesion in our mutual work on the sharing part. I was responsible to write the report on the activities we did and the outcomes of the workshops.

I worked on this training for 3 days as a full time trainer.
