Aims & objectives

The aim is to develop youth workers’ facilitation skills and create innovative activities that later on will be used in their daily work with groups of youngsters. Testing them on spot and getting feedback will increase their future applicability.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The target group we offered this experience to were 28 educators and youth workers actively involved in our partner organizations and working with youngsters on a regular basis. On another level, we extended this opportunity to trainers and facilitators who were interested to renovate their tools and exercises and create new ones for their workshops and projects.

Training methods used & main activities

The working methods used is this project were based on non-formal education and experiential learning. They encouraged active participation and an atmosphere of inclusion, tolerance towards diversity, acceptance, and trust within the group. Specially in the second part of the training course we often worked in small groups, which provided space for more active participation and involvement of all the participants, an opportunity for deeper reflections and understandings, leading to a more self-directed learning.

Outcomes of the activity

As a result, the participants of the Training Course created the “Facility to facilitate booklet” that contained the workshops developed by the participants and tested on spot.
