Aims & objectives

FACE IT! is a TC for Youth workers on Facilitation in Youth groups. The TC proposes methods and exercises to boost some of the Skills (Learning to learn awareness, Effective Communication, Problem Solving, Creativity, Conflict management, Designing a workshop) that a Facilitator should have.

AIMS:
• Provide Youth Workers with practical tools of facilitation to use with youth for raising their self efficacy and empowering them in their personal and professional life, especially those with fewer opportunities (NEET, migrants,..)
• Improve youth work quality and enhance the role of youth workers and NGOs as social facilitators;
• Facilitate the participants acquisition of a positive attitude towards social challenges and the use of it as positive tool of transformation in youth work and in their lives;
• Improve international cooperation between organisations and build of trustful long-term cooperation;
• Recognition of the educational value of NFE activities - Creation of outcomes (a daily Blog and a Booklet) to spread in order to contribute to Youth Workers empowerment.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The target group is participants who wants to develop Facilitation skills (Youth workers, educators, trainers,,..).
The TC was attended by 21 participants from 7 countries and organisations:
- Hungary - HVSF
- Portugal: Associação Check-IN
- Italy: Associazione Agrado
- Greece: Hellenic Youth Participation
- Ireland: Comhlámh - Development Workers in Global Solidarity
- Slovenia: Zavod Voluntariat
- Croatia: Syncro - Synergy Croatia

Training methods used & main activities

Non formal methods: Role-play, team work, team building activities, posters, World cafè, reflection activities.

Outcomes of the activity

The final workshops performed by participants in groups of 3 were highly professional and showed the commitment of participants in the Tc. Their competences were improved, especially in debriefing, feedback and public speaking.
Participants have developed a dily Blog and soon will be also published a Booklet with all the activities.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

My tasks were connected to Team building activities, Intercultural communication session, Feedback session and Learning styles and creative problem solving.

I worked on this training for 6 days as a full time trainer.
