EVS - Reflect and Act! (Supporting EVS coordinators in building quality and accessibility in their projects)

Aims & objectives

This seminar aims was to bring together EVS coordinators from Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary and countries of Eastern Europe and Caucasus (SALTO EECA ) and create an inspirational learning space for exchange of experience and good practice. Its main aim was to support quality and accessibility of EVS projects through supporting EVS coordinators both in their personal and professional development.

The specific objectives of the EVS - Reflect and Act! seminar were:
• To create an inspiring learning environment for EVS coordinators for sharing good practice, inspiration and motivation;
• To strengthen competencies of EVS coordinators (both professional and personal);
• To improve capacity of practical realisation of EVS projects in the frames of Erasmus+ and to provide up-to-date information about the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme;
• To support contact and cooperation between organizations, to establish international partnerships.

PARTICIPANTS:
We hosted 45 participants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Czech Republic, Georgia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine, with a great variety of ages, national contexts, experience in hosting /sending/coordinating volunteers and participating in seminars of this kind.

Training methods used & main activities

The program included discussions and evaluations of changes in EVS projects in the Erasmus + programme, sharing of good practice among different organisations and countries and offered a great possibility for developing partnerships and networks.
The presence of officers from national agencies of Erasmus+ Youth in Action ensured the latest information and lots of questions being answered.
For development of competencies and personal development of EVS coordinators there were a variety of workshops on topics such as communication, conflict management, prevention of burn-out etc.

THEMATIC AREAS OF SEMINAR:
- Reality of EVS projects (EVS project cycle, Voluntary service in Poland, Czech, Slovakia, Hungary, EECA – summary & work in national groups, Role of EVS coordinator – personal dimension and quality of work);
- Organizations market;
- Competences workshops for EVS (Motivating EVS volunteers/ Prevention of burnout/ Communication, Conflict management, DEOR tools/ Partnership building/ Supporting learning process of EVS volunteers, Employ-ability, inclusion and local dimension (V4) in coordinators work);
- Capacity building – exchange of experiences and inspirations (OPEN SPACE);
- Future planning and partnership building;
- Learning outcomes of the seminar (Youthpass process).

Outcomes of the activity

45 coordinators boosted their competences in a field of EVS coordination and cooperation.
Strategies for increasing EVS accessability were developed in working groups.
Cooperation with mentors - the outcomes of w working group were concluded in a document attached to the final report.
A network between EVS coordinators from East and Wisegrad countries was created for future projects.
