Aim of the training:
to give thevolunteers continuous guidance and support at the beginning of their voluntary service period.
Objectives of the training
The main objectives of the on-arrival training are:
• to introduce volunteers to the host country,
• to help them to adapt to cultural and personal challenges,
• to exchange their first experiences and clarify questions related to their project,
• to equip them with communication skills, including aspects of intercultural learning,
• to help them to become aware that cultural differences require different models of behaviour,
• to allow them to get to know each other and to build a network,
• to offer guidance on conflict prevention and crisis management,
• togive time for planning the coming months and to develop their own personal goals for their period of service.
the group of participants consisted of 13 EVS volunteers at the beginning of their EVS experience in Slovenia. They were from Spain, Bulgaria, Italy, Croatia, Germany, Estonia and Romania.

The training brought together EVS volunteers from Expected outcomes
Participants will:
• receive information about legal procedures (if needed), insurance and the EVS Agreement,
• understand the role of each partner (SO, RO, CO, volunteer) in the project and know their own rights and responsibilities,
• raise awareness of how to deal with cultural differences and with conflicts is raised,
• have identified clear goals and ideas for their voluntary service and future achievements,
• know the potential of being an EVS volunteer,
• have the chance to meet and network with other EVS volunteers in Slovenia.
I was one of the two trainers for this training, delivering content and holding space for the whole 5 days.
