EVS on-arrival training for EVS volunteers and their mentors

Aims & objectives

Improve the quality of concrete approved EVS projects in Latvia: *to prepare the volunteers for their EVS projects, *to improve the collaboration with project coordinators and mentors, *to strengthen their understanding about intercultural learning, EVS program, non-formal learning and Youth Pass as a learning tool.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

8 EVS volunteers (from Spain, Italy, Serbia, France, Finland, Portugal) and 6 mentors from Latvia.

Training methods used & main activities

Getting to know each other & team building activities, preparation of international evening, group work and discussions, personal and group evaluation, personal learning plan development, practical challenge in local society, group work and presentations in mapping the rights and duties of EVS players, tasks to discover 8 key competences etc.

Outcomes of the activity

The volunteers and mentors were prepared for European Voluntary Service projects and collaboration, set their personal learning goals and got familiar with non-formal learning opportunities in EVS projects.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

Full time trainer – training planning and delivering, reporting.

I worked on this training for 5 days as a full time trainer.
