Aims & objectives

This was part of the EVS cycle. The aims included to encourage the participants to evaluate their project cycle until now, start reflecting on their own learning, prepare them for the last part of their projects, as well as the end of the projects.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

We had 55 participants from a number of countries, all of whom were in the latter half of their EVS projects in Norway. The 4 trainers were Norwegian.

Training methods used & main activities

We used a number of group brainstormings, buzz groups for reflection, energisers, teambuilding activities. We also ran the exercise 'Understanding Hate Speech' from the Bookmarks manual.

Outcomes of the activity

The training activity helped prepare the participants for the remainder of the project times, as well as build a network for their time in Norway, as well as afterwards.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was one of 4 trainers involved in this. We ran some sessions with the full group together, including the exercise about hate speech, which I facilitated. We then split the group into two for the next two days. I was involved in planning and facilitating the training activity.

I worked on this training for 3 days as a full time trainer.
