Aims & objectives

Extending the critical thinking and knowledge about policy making, democracy and human rights of participants,
Raising awareness of participants through sharing good practices,
Enabling participants to better understand and use the political dimension in their work in the EVS cycle.

To address the political dimension in EVS by means of non-formal learning based on participants experience, motivation and needs. Participants had the chance to assess the impact of political context in their field / projects, defining and analysing the active citizenship in the panorama of EVS, exchanging good practices, sharing knowledge and methods and assessing their own competences. In this way the training course prepared them for the implementation of the political dimension of the participants in their daily work.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

17 international participants with various backgrounds related to EVS and a group of 4 international trainers.

Training methods used & main activities

The training was based on Non-formal and informal learning methods, “learning by doing”. The course concept had been created in a way that allowed for active participation and exchange of good practices between participants.

We established a theoretical framework and common reference points for learning and communication in this course. Moreover we used methods as a debate, case scenarios, forum theater and simulation were participants were able to experience direct involvement.

Outcomes of the activity

Participants were able to understand the difference between policy and politics as part of the EVS cycle
Participants were able to integrate their learning in their daily EVS work
Participants were aware and able to deal with the importance of being non-judgmental and respectful of various political beliefs and values
Participants were able to understand the importance of stand for democracy and human rights.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

Co - trainer involved in the creation of the program of the TC, preparation, implementation and evaluation.

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
